I captain a modest vessel in the grand humbling expanse that is the Bering Sea. My crew and I take great care to bring you only the very finest Wild-Caught Alaskan Sockeye Salmon.
The Bering (or Imarpik – in Upik) Sea, ever-undulating in her pristine glory, is home to our Sockeye Salmon run. As she floods and ebbs, we pitch and loll; bucking tides and trends, spurning danger for our silvery prize.
Sockeye or Red Salmon, as it is known in Alaska, is generally regarded as the best-tasting salmon. It is highly valued for its deep-red full-textured flesh and cooking versatility. My own favorite method is to place a whole side on the barbecue with a little simple seasoning. Perfection in minutes.
The health benefits of eating Wild Salmon are now well-known. Salmon are high in protein and healthful oils such as Omega-3s. In fact, Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon has the highest oil content of any Salmon.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest foods Wild-caught Alaskan Salmon is a high protein super-food whose benefits are easily absorbed into the body. It is very rich in the good fat of omega 3, but also has B12, niacin, and selenium, and is an excellent source of B6 and magnesium. Red salmon has higher oil content than Keta. Great for the brain and the body a like.
Sockeye Salmon can only ever be wild – they simply cannot be farmed. Farmed salmon is a wasteful, artificial, and inferior product that damages the environment.
Our fishery was the first in the world to qualify as being fully sustainable under the surveillance of the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council). Fish stocks are strictly regulated and managed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Buying this great product is also a choice that helps America as this fish is caught, filleted, frozen, and transported in the United States. No work is ‘farmed out’ abroad in order to duck health and labor laws or to exploit cheap local workforces.
Wild-Caught Alaskan Sockeye Salmon not only taste great but is also the choice of the informed and discerning customer.
